Choose and Book Unplugged

'Choose and Book Unplugged' can be used for demonstrating and training on the Choose and Book application. It enables an unlimited number of users to concurrently demonstrate and train on Choose and Book any time, any place, anywhere.

Scope and Functionality in Choose and Book Unplugged for Release 5.0

The functionality within Choose and Book Unplugged for Release 5.0 includes:

• Six business functions of Choose and Book:
  • Referring Clinician
  • Referring Clinician Admin
  • Service Provider Clinician (CAS and non-CAS)
  • Service Provider Clinician Admin (CAS and non-CAS)
  • Additional Requirements Manager
  • Booking Manager
  • Booking Management Service Admin
• data within Choose and Book Unplugged for Release 5.0 is limited to:
  • two active patients (Joanne Atkin and Robert Woods)
  • one patient marked deceased (Peter Jones)
• Simulated smartcard authentication
• Simulated web-based use of Choose and Book for six business functions
• Referring clinician accessing CAB via EMIS LV and creating a referral (including referral letter)
• Referring clinician accessing CAB via iSoft Synergy and creating a referral (including referral letter)
• Referring clinician accessing CAB via iSoft Premiere and creating a referral (including referral letter)
• Referring clinician accessing CAB via Emis PCS and creating a referral (including referral letter)

• Referring clinican accessing CAB via EMIS Web and creating a referral (including referral letter)

Limitations on Functionality

Choose and Book Unplugged for Release 5.0:-

• is NOT a complete installation of Choose and Book and is for demonstration and training purposes only
• will not hold changes or additions to data past the session cache (e.g. if you make a new booking the UBRN that you create will not be available for the Service Provider to review.

Please note that:

• When using the “Change Service” workflow from the “Review Referral” workflow it is not possible to redirect an IBS service to a DBS. To demonstrate redirecting to a DBS service start with a referral to a DBS service, these are the even number UBRN’s. The trainer script shows the workflow using the correct UBRN’s.
• There are three new services that have been created to demonstrate Release 5.0 functionality.

Demo Environment

The Choose and Book Demo Environment is a copy of the Choose and Book live application and is intended to demonstrate the end to end processes of using the Choose and Book application when accessed via the web (not via GP system). The Demo Environment may be used by trainers to demonstrate to end users during training, the end to end processes of all the functions within the Choose and Book application.

The Demo Environment is pre-populated with data that is not real so it does not affect patients confidentiality nor will bookings be made into live clinics. It is a standalone system and therefore does not rely on the NCRS spine, PAS or GP systems. It is a web based application available via N3/NHSnet.

The Demo Environment reflects Release 5.0 functionality. It has been updated with pre-populated data to demonstrate Release 5.0 functionality as follows:

• UBRNs area available in the Missing Referral Letter enquiry
• DNA’s are available in the Appointments for Booking Worklist
• New services have been created to demonstrate Appointment Slot Issues.
